Visited: 05-2013My wife and I stayed one night on our way to Yosemite from Riverside, CA. We wanted to visit the underground gardens in Fresno which were across the street from this hotel. Our stay was excellent! We arrived very late due to extreme traffic encountered near Los Angeles and road construction on Hwy 99, but the owners were there awaiting our late arrival. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast with fresh made waffles, sausage, eggs, delicious fruit that was freshly picked from trees grown on-site, and good coffee. The owners were very nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and our visit to the underground gardens accross the street. Highly Recommended as a good place to stay.
Best stay EVER

Visited: 04-2013Husband and I chose this wonderful place because it was next to Forestiere Gardens and because it was so highly rated by travelers on the internet. After 40+ years of travel, we never plan on a good night's sleep when we stay in motels, even hotels, as noise is ALWAYS the issue. Even tho' this lovely inn is right next to a busy street, once you close the door...QUIET...no room-to-room noise. The grounds had us out and about several times to take in the beauty of spectacular roses, Clivia, azaleas and a variety of lush citrus....tangerines inviting you to sample. Tangerine juice fresh squeezed, Made just for you Belgian waffle, sausage, hard boiled eggs kept warm, bagels and muffins we put a smile on our faces, believe me....I plan to post their brochure on Facebook for the world to know about!! Lovely pool area, and everything so-o-o clean!! We'll come have to come up with a reason to return for sure!!

Visited: 08-2012+ ˇ§We stayed at Garden Inn & Suites on 8/18/2012 as our last stop on a Northern California sightseeing trip. From the outside Garden Inn & Suites isnˇ¦t anything magical, but magic happens when you walk deeper into the hotel. While many other hotels have ˇ§gardenˇ¨ in their names, Garden Inn & Suites is quite literally a garden. Here the plants outnumber the roof tiles. Everywhere you go, turn, walk, run, hop, skip or twirl are some type of spectacular tropical plants with fruits hanging like Christmas ornaments. Not only that, but also the hotel is manned by the family owners who go above and beyond to help, including serving the fresh fruits from their garden, making us waffles and lending us their vacuum to clean out our back-from-Yosemite rental car. In addition, the rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. We had a suite with full size living room and kitchen. Overall, this hotel was quite a destination, not just a place to recharge for the next California sightseeing stop. We were completely blown away and wish we had a few more days to relax there before flying back to Pennsylvania. I would give 10 out of 5 if I could. ˇ¨
Wonderful owners, very clean, and beautiful gardens.

Visited: 05-2012We found this inn online, and what good fortune that was. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, and they provided a great breakfast. The owners were so nice and showed us all around the grounds. The plants and trees were to die for. We would highly recommend The Garden Inn & Suites.
A refreshing experience

Visited: 02-2012Coming from cold rain drenched Seattle, this was a delightful experience. The roses and fruit trees outside of door was a pleasent surprise. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. We so enjoyed the breakfast with the fresh waffles and amazing fruit from the grounds. We enjoyed the management and his passion for growing things. Fresno's Best Bet

Visited: 10-2010What a delight it was for us to find this well appointed hotel. My husband and I were staying in Fresno as a jump off point for Yosemite. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious - especially the waffles!
If all of that isn't enough, the owners were so gracious and friendly that we felt like we were staying with friends and not just checking into an anonymous hotel. They have done an amazing amount of work on the grounds surrounding the rooms with every shade of rose bush that exists and many exotic plants and trees, including passion fruit, jujube trees, guava and pomegranate. It felt more like a tropical paradise than a hotel one might expect to stay at in Fresno.
Forget your thoughts of what Fresno is like as well as it is a delightful city with plenty to see and do - whether you want to hike or fish, do a little shopping or go out for an evening on the town.
When you visit Fresno, this is the place to stay, hands down!
Very Nice Hotel

Visited: 07-2009We were here for a brief stay and found it to be quite pretty with lovely landscaping; nice, clean rooms; and quiet and restful. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back and will recommend it to others who may be in the Fresno area.
It's a one of a kind place to stay

Unique and amazing property
Tom Bayh from Portland, Oregon
Visited: 06-2009The Garden Inn and Suites is a rare jewel in hotel accommodations. In over forty years of travel to all parts of the world, including some very exclusive properties, I have not stayed at comparable sites. This is because Garden Inn is so unique. In my view, Garden Inn is the perfect scale. Not so large as to be overwhelmingly pretensions; instead precisely the correct scale for a truly personalized experience. Staying at the Garden Inn isn't just,"getting a room." It's a mini- vacation. A brief time in a pleasant oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Of course, Garden Inn has all the usual amenities-pool, Jacuzzi, recreation room. The room themselves are among the best I've seen; large, well appointed, and meticulously maintained. Small patios front each entrance, ensuring privacy and a sense of one's one space. But it is the grounds and overall ambiance that sets Garden Inn far apart from other properties. The grounds are lush with fruit trees, brilliantly colored flowers, shrubs, and vegetable plantings of more varieties than I could count. Arising in morning, you can stroll within the Garden Inn compound, enjoying the fresh scent of fruit and blossoms. Beginning a day in such surroundings is a unique experience not often found.
I've read many hotel reviews, and nobody has much good to say about complimentary breakfasts. The Garden Inn is different. The complimentary breakfasts served each morning is more than unusual. Far from usual offerings of bitter coffee, stale doughnuts, and watered juice other properties provide, Garden Inn's offering is amazing. Fresh Belgian waffles made to order, toast, juice, coffee, tea, oatmeal, sausage, and eggs-all fresh and abundant. But it is the fruit that is so very special. Seasonal plums, peaches, oranges, grapes, grapefruit, persimmons, along with other special varieties are harvested daily from the Garden Inn grounds at precisely their peak of natural ripening. You won't find these organic wonders elsewhere and along are worth a visit to the Garden Inn. Breakfast al fresno, the air scented by surrounding trees which provided some of your repast is a true pleasure.
I live in Portland, Oregon and travel occasionally to Los Angeles. Nonetheless, and even though Fresno is not conveniently located for me in terms of daily driving distances, I wouldn't think of not stopping in Fresno each way to spend at laest one night at the Garden Inn and Suites.
A superb choice as gateway to Yosimete
